We have been using lead gutters for over 300 years. Here are 3 different types of rain lead gutters:
1. Rolled Lead Sheet

The production of Rolled Lead Sheet is very common. If you need a hard, good quality gutter system in your home or business this is what you need for your property. The roll is shaped into gutters and installed only by qualified experts. If properly build and installed, it will protect your house against the rain for years to come. We define thickness by codes with Code 4 (1.8mm) to Code 8 (3.55mm) since we use it the most to build useful stuff. Rolled lead’s uniform metallurgical grain structure helps it to resist fatigue cracking from thermal movements.
2. Machine Cast Sheets

Machine cast sheets is the latest manufacturing form for lead sheets. The metallurgical consistency of machine cast is different to rolled sheet as it does not have a uniformly distributed grain structure within the sheet. The person operating the machine should follow strict recommendations from experienced manufacturers.
3. Sand Cast Sheet

To this day we make gutters with these sheets, and even though it is one of the oldest method of manufacture, there is a high demand because we use it for restoration and refurbishment work when we need to reconstruct a specific piece. We can’t produce the fine thickness tolerances with this traditional method; and that is fine because now we can achieve it with modern rolling mills and we can produce thicker codes of sheet. This traditional process has been around since the Romans and to this day is presently used for restoration of heritage buildings, churches and cathedrals because due to possessing a distinct texture it makes it a very unique manufacturing process and is considered a premium product.
